MTV VMA's Sunday Night!

The MTV Video Music Awards turn 25 years old this Sunday night, and the channel is planning its usual blowout, this year from the Paramount lot in L.A. The show will feature live performances from LIL' WAYNE, KID ROCK, RIHANNA, CHRISTINA AGUILERA, KANYE WEST, PINK, T.I., THE JONAS BROTHERS, KATY PERRY, T-PAIN, THE TING-TINGS and PARAMORE.

Presenters include Olympic star MICHAEL PHELPS, MILEY CYRUS, CIARA, the stars of High School Musical 3, LINDSAY LOHAN, SCARLETT JOHANSSON and Superbad star CHRISTOPHER MINTZ-PLASSE.

The show airs live at 9pm ET.British comedian RUSSELL BRAND, best known for his role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, will host the proceedings, and BRITNEY SPEARS will open the show doing something, quote, "fun and unexpected."

Britney, who has never won an MTV VMA Award, is up for three Moonmen this year.
