THE FASHION
The colors on the Red Carpet last night were quite muted, with many white, light and-neutral-colored gowns. A few stars wore black, though, and asymmetrical silhouettes were also a big trend. Worth noting, Mickey Rourke walked the red carpet wearing a pendant around his neck with a picture of his beloved Chihuahua LOKI, who died last week.
HERE’S WHAT WE DIDN’T SEE--
Immediately after a winner went on stage to accept their Oscar, a large monitor began counting down from 45 seconds in large white numbers. When it hit ten seconds, the numbers changed to black. When the countdown ended, the screen flashed "PLEASE WRAP UP." However, they decided NOT to run the clock when Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle, Kate Winslet, Sean Penn and Heath Ledger’s family came on stage.
-- Penelope Cruz bumped into Tom Cruise, apparently it was QUITE awkward…no word on the Jennifer Aniston/John Mayer/Brad and Angelina show-down but we did hear that they ducked out when the boring awards were given out but unfortunately they missed their cue and didn't make it back in time to see Eddie Murphy present a humanitarian award to Jerry Lewis…Two female seat fillers replaced Brangelina.
-- Alicia Keys reportedly broke a heel moments before walking on stage with Zac Efron to present an award, but her dress was long enough to hide the shoe-issue and no one noticed she was walking with one leg shorter than the other.
