WRIGLEY PULLS CHRIS BROWN DOUBLEMINT AD; RIHANNA POSTPONES ASIAN SHOW

Gum company Wrigley has announced that its pulling its commercial featuring CHRIS BROWN touting Doublemint Gum, in the wake of his recent arrest. In a statement, the company expressed concern about, quote, "serious allegations made against" the singer. Wrigley said it hasn't made a decision to drop Chris as a spokesperson at this point, pointing out that Chris should be, quote, "afforded the same due process as any citizen."The ad, which features Chris singing his song "Forever," was actually aired during last night's Grammy ceremony, about 40 minutes before it was officially announced that Chris had pulled out of the telecast.

At this point, Chris is free on 50-thousand-dollars bail, having been booked on suspicion of making "criminal threats" to an unidentified woman, which means that a person has made a threat and has the capacity to carry it out. An LAPD sergeant said, "The district attorney's office may file additonal charges...but we've left that up to the district attorney." A spokeswoman for the DA told E! News that they have not received any evidence yet, and added that the investigation is still continuing.

Chris' lawyer, MARK GERAGOS, has yet to comment.

According to published reports, Chris' girlfriend RIHANNA is the woman involved in the incident that led to Chris being charged. According to E! Online, Rihanna was found by police in Chris' rented Lamborghini, quote, "beaten really badly and hysterical" after he fled the scene. E! says Rihanna suffered bruises and scrapes on her face, while TMZ.com reports she suffered two "huge contusions" on her forehead, as well as a bloody lip and nose. There are also rumors that Rihanna suffered bite wounds on her body. She reportedly checked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for treatment but has since been released.

Rihanna was due to perform in Malaysia this Friday, but the show has been postponed. A new date for the concert has not yet been announced. In addition, E! Online reports Rihanna's music label has cancelled a 21st birthday party planned for the singer in New York on February 20th.

As for Chris, he was scheduled to appear at this weekend's NBA All-Star Game, but an NBA spokeswoman told E! News, quote, "Chris Brown has withdrawn from NBA All-Star events."
