82nd ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS

Oscars. The clothing was simple, lot of ivory, silver and taupe…almost no one had on a necklace, only a few pairs of earrings…less is more (including a NO Tiger Woods joke rule). The telecast, not so much. 3.5 hours – Kathryn Bigelow first female director to ever win Best Director for Hurt Locker, then it became Best Picture despite earning only $15 mill at the box office. (won 6 in total) – Avatar won 3.

Hosts – Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin…meh?

VERY predictable winners - MO'NIQUE, CHRISTOPH WALTZ, JEFF BRIDGES and SANDRA BULLOCK. (PS, how funny that Saturday night, Sandra Bullock won the Golden Raspberry (Razzie) Worst Actress Award of 2009) – she said she’s gonna keep them side by side.

Producers promised the show would be hip, exciting and a different take. The only things I found odd were:

· Neil Patrick Harris opened (Martin Short was supposed to join him but had a family emergency)
· That they said “and the winner is” - - breaking tradition of “And the Oscar goes to”….
· They forgot Farah Fawcett in the memoriam. (Dr T and the Women, Logan’s Run)- do you think someone's head is rolling today??

ALICE FELL DOWN THE HOLE, INTO A PILE OF MONEY!

Holy crap! Alice in Wonderland made $116 million dollars this weekend…a record for a 3D movie, even surpasses Avatar’s first weekend. Put in perspective, the 2nd place movie -cop drama Brooklyn's Finest made 13 million. YIKES.

JASON MARRIES MOLLY

Tonight Jason Mesnick marries Molly on The Bachelor wedding special. While that’s going on, Jake the Pilot is putting out rumors that he is trying to get back together with his ex girlfriend. He’s saying they broke up before the show, she’s claiming she has proof that that’s not true. Oh Mr Squeaky clean might not be so squeaky.
